We're excited to share that the Monad Foundation has acquired the team behind Ponder, an open-source framework for blockchain data indexing. Over the past two years, Ponder has grown tremendously to power hundreds of leading applications across the EVM ecosystem.
Monad is pushing the boundaries of what's possible for the EVM, advancing performance and throughput to unlock entirely new categories of applications. But today, fundamental limitations with the EVM data layer still make it difficult to build responsive, user-friendly experiences that take full advantage of the underlying chain.
The data standards and tooling that applications rely on simply haven't kept pace with what chains like Monad are now capable of.
Why Ponder?
The Ponder team – Kevin, Kyle, and Jay – have spent years helping developers ship faster, more reliable software in crypto. Through their work on Ponder, they've developed a deep understanding of the specific data challenges that hold modern EVM applications back.
At the Monad Foundation, they'll contribute infrastructure, tooling, and open standards that address these challenges at the protocol layer rather than working around them. Their work will help applications on Monad better leverage the network's performance, reliability, and decentralization, and drive the broader EVM ecosystem forward.
The team will continue to develop Ponder as the leading open-source indexing solution for EVM developers.
We're excited for what's ahead. If you're building on Monad and want to chat about data infrastructure or developer tooling, the team would love to hear from you.
